Spaces Gallery is having an exhibition of this artist's work.
Artist-in-residence Pavel Kopriva is in Cleveland through the SPACES World Artists Program, designed to give visiting artists the time and opportunity to create new
work and interact with the Northeast Ohio community. Kopriva's work has been widely shown in the Czech Republic, where he resides, throughout Eastern Europe, and parts of Western Europe. He holds a Doctorate from the Prague Academy of Architecture, Art, and Design. He currently teaches Multimedia Studies at the Technical University, Liberec, Czech Republic.
Kopriva's work deals with ideas about science and technology, and how our roles—personal and societal— affect our reality. Often dealing with secrecy, the secrets we keep and the secrets that are kept from us, Kopriva's work questions how our reality contrasts with what the government, organized religion, and the media tell us about "reality."
