Yesterday, I tried to turn off my thoughts and just LOOK at things. Here are some photos from my sight-seeing tour of Cleveland--specifically in University Circle and downtown.

The Plain Dealer today announces that the Catholic diocese abandons the mission of the church without a tear for those left behind in the city.

Last night, I cried and it was a good cry. With the election of Barack Obama, America elected it's first real Father.

I have a feeling I know who wrote this post at Cleveland Public Library, but I won't out that person. It's so true. If you are feeling out of sorts at this time of year, try POETRY.

Evidently, we need a little socialism here in NEO.

Hello Friends,

Zoo is a funny word and an often sad place. Zoos let us look at the animals we compete against to live in this world. Somedays, it seems that we can all get along, afterall, and it can be a beautiful world for all of God's living things.

Or Criminal?  How would you characterize leadership in the City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County?

"Do we posses sufficient courage, compassion, and creativity to stave off chaos in defense of a just, sustainable society?"

That is the question? With so many voices shouting in cyberspace, what's the point?

Alas, we had a website and now it is gone. More hocus-pocus and bogus politics in Brooklyn Centre.

During the memorable August black out of 2005, my neighborhood suddenly came alive with a festive spirit of cooperation and joy. We noticed the stars, sat on our front porches, and shared food, while the kids played in the streets. Tim knows.

We Americans are at the threshold. There is no turning back after November 4th. Please read Barack Obama's address to the American Library Association given in 2005.

Montel knows where I live. I know Montel from the library. I first noticed Montel, when he and his two younger brothers Rayvon and Orlando, ran around the library spraying other kids with perfume. Another time, I found him hiding behind the shelves spying on some girls and when I "apprehended" him, he chastised me for blowing his cover. Montel is bad, but he is funny and lovably bad.

When the op-ed from today's PD becomes available to link, I will post it here. Meanwhile, let's all play the finger-pointing deflect blame game. It worked when you were a kid and it still works today!

I gave up. I am not going to finish the Power Broker by Robert Caro. It's a fat book with small type. The cover and spine are worn and about to give out. I am going to go out and buy it, so that I will stop monopolizing the worn library copy.

Does Cuyahoga County represent Cleveland? Is Cleveland part of Cuyahoga County? What is the center community of Cuyahoga County? Bay Village?
