Tim's take

I agree with Tim's take on this type of coverage.  It's bad pastiche.

alliteration

Laura, I looked it up--

Reviewing some background material here, I probably would have used more alliteration, and contemptuously spat out the phrase "piss-poor pastiche," or words to that effect.

public relations, yes; pastiche, not really

Interesting use of the word "pastiche." As in "melange"? Upchuck?

I guess it wasn't a very newsworthy story unless you jazzed it up with the standard pap.

What we have to remember is that this is just one of the things we do to be a balanced, sustainable, healthy place to live. And you have to remember, too, that every time somebody truly depicts our actual value, a cheap new house in Westlake, Avon, Solon, or Mentor loses market value quicker.

There are many people who have a financial vested interest in depicting us in ghetto drag; we cannot afford to subsidize their poor choices, unthinking choices made trying to "fit in", any longer.

Ghetto drag

I love it.  Work it :)
